“It is every man’s right to examine the Scriptures for himself, to read them in his own tongue, that he may learn how to serve God.”
- John Wycliffe, translator of the Bible into English
There are more than 353 million people in the world who do not have any portion of the Bible in their language. They have no access to God’s Word. But Jesus said, “it is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’ ” (Matthew 4:4) How will these Bible-less people have the opportunity to “live” if they do not have the Word that God has given to us?
Every person matters to God—even the Bible-less. Jesus commanded us to “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation” (Mark 16:15)—yet there are still those who have not heard.
The Bible-less are within our reach.
For the first time in history, we as Christians and partnering Bible translation agencies have the technology and the means available to begin a Bible translation project in every language group by 2025. If current trends continue, this will happen.
About Pioneer Bible Translators
Pioneer Bible Translators began in 1976 with a mission to disciple the Bible-less, mobilizing God’s people to provide enduring access to God’s Word. We focus on hard-to-reach language groups, church planting and church growth. Pioneer Bible Translators is the only Bible translation agency that also plants churches.
