"As long as there are millions destitute of the Word of God and knowledge of Jesus Christ, it will be impossible for me to devote time and energy to those who have both."
- J. L. Ewen
Leading Up to Now...
Being intrigued by cross-cultural missions since high school, I sought opportunities with my campus ministry, Active Christians Today, to further my understanding of them. From two short-term trips and an internship in Port-de-Paix, Haiti, I realized that international missions incorporates my love of learning cultures and languages as well as provides an opportunity to share the wonderful news of Jesus Christ.
After graduating with a degree as a 7th-12th grades Math Teacher, I worked as a Substitute Teacher while I waited for God to direct me on the path He desired for me to follow. It was during this time that I honestly looked at my relationship with God and realized I had not completely committed my life to Him. When I consciously and willingly offered 100% of my goals, desires, and passions to Him, a weight was lifted and within days His Will for the next phase of my life was evident.
Three days after making the decision to follow Him regardless of the “costs,” I was introduced to Pioneer Bible Translators. This organization highlighted all of the aspects of missions that I love: linguistics, language learning, cultural acquisition, evangelism, Scripture-impact, and a faithful, healthy body of believers working as a team to take the Gospel to the nations. After praying, seeking wisdom, and visiting Pioneer Bible Translators I am convinced that this is the place God has been preparing me to do His Work.
Currently...
I am seeking prayer and financial partners to join me in serving our amazing Lord and Savior in helping HIS WORD be translated into every language! Please see the "Partnership" Tab for instructions on how to get involved.
I am committed to serve a Short-Term Assignment in West Africa as a teacher to the Litsey Family. They have 6 amazing children ranging from 7th to 12th grade and learning all areas of study, including French. While there, I will also receive hands-on training in the parents’ ministries. James Litsey is a medical-missions-Scripture- impact specialist, meaning he goes into the mountains and helps meet people’s physical and Spiritual needs. Lisa Litsey is a literacy specialist, which is an area I feel God could be calling me to in the future.
